Written by Giavanna Foster

On June 18, Luca will stream exclusively on Disney Plus. Pixar Animation Studios produced the movie, and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures distributed it. The trailer for Luca landed in the Top 10 of YouTube Trending. Here’s the scoop:

Today, the official trailer for Disney and Pixar’s Luca was launched on YouTube. In 13 hours, the official trailer landed at #5 on the YouTube Trending list and received over 2.7M+ views. Disney and Pixar’s Luca is an adventurous comedy film starring Jacob Tremblay, Jack Dylan Grazer, Maya Rudolph, and Jim Gaffigan. Luca will also be dedicated to Ennio Morricone, who composed music for a long list of artists including Paul Anka, Milva, and Andrea Bocelli.

Tremblay voices the character of 13-year-old Luca Paguro, and Grazer voices the character of Alberto Scorfano (who is Luca’s best friend). The adventures begin in Portorosso, located in the Italian Riviera. Also, Paguro and Scorfano are hiding one big secret: they are sea monsters. The central message of this movie is about the power of friendship. Enrico Casarosa is the director of Disney and Pixar’s Luca. He also worked as a story artist on Up and Ratatouille.

Enrico Casarosa voiced, “This is a deeply personal story for me, not only because it’s set on the Italian Riviera where I grew up, but because at the core of this film is a celebration of friendship. Childhood friendships often set the course of who we want to become, and it is those bonds that are at the heart of our story in Luca. So, in addition to the beauty and charm of the Italian seaside, our film will feature an unforgettable summer adventure that will fundamentally change Luca.”

On June 18, 2021, Disney and Pixar’s Luca will stream exclusively on Disney Plus (Disney+) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Click here to go to the Disney Plus website.
