Kelly Clarkson is going to host the 2020 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs). Garth Brooks will also receive the Icon Award. Here’s the scoop:
Kelly Clarkson is a popular award-winning singer/ songwriter. Clarkson currently has a Las Vegas residency and hosts her own television show, The Kelly Clarkson Show. Kelly Clarkson will be hosting the 2020 Billboard Music Awards. This year is Clarkson’s third consecutive year of hosting the show. Last year, she performed “Broken & Beautiful” from the UglyDolls movie. In 2018, Clarkson received the Radio Disney Music Icon Award. Also, Billboard stated that Clarkson is “one of pop music’s greatest singers”. Throughout her career, Clarkson landed more than one hundred No. 1 hits on Billboard’s music charts.
After Kelly Clarkson was asked about her thoughts on hosting the 2020 Billboard Music Awards, she responded with great enthusiasm:
“I’m thrilled to be back with my Billboard family,” Kelly Clarkson said. “I love being part of an event that celebrates our greatest artists and entertains our fans. This a night of music that you won’t want to miss!”
GRAMMY®-winning artist Garth Brooks will be receiving the Icon Award during this year’s telecast. As a record-breaking country superstar, Brooks has made history. Nine of his albums are diamond-certified in the U.S., including Double Live (which is 21x platinum). Brooks has also received 17 American Music Awards and sold over 170 million records. Michael Phelps received this year’s Legend Award at the Kids Choice Sports Awards. Here’s the scoop:
As Michael Phelps walked to the stage, he was named the “most decorated Olympian of all time”. With 23 Olympic gold medals and 16 Olympic medals in individual events, Phelps has set new all-time records. Phelps is an 11-time American Swimmer of the Year Award champion and 8-time World Swimmer of the Year Award winner. He joins Aaron Rodgers and Stephen Curry in the list of Associated Press Athlete of the Year winners.
In addition, Michael Phelps is also a philanthropist. He founded the Michael Phelps Foundation, which aims to educate children about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle while expanding opportunities to participate in the sport of swimming. During Phelps’ speech, he reflected on his journey as an aspiring Olympian swimmer. As a child, Phelps had a fear of the water. He developed a deep passion for swimming and practiced regularly. Onstage, Phelps talked about the key ingredients of success before encouraging everyone to dream big and work towards accomplishing their goals.
“I wanted to do something that nobody else had done before, and thankfully, with a lot of hard work, a lot of dedication, some sacrifice, and a little bit of luck, I was able to do it. To be honest, I still really haven’t been able to fully process everything. The 2017 Kids Choice Sports Awards aired July 16. Here are the main highlights:
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson hosted the 2017 Kids Choice Sports Awards. This event featured tons of green and gold slime as well as a variety of athletic challenges that included pedal pop, relay race, high hoops, and perfect pass.
Russell Wilson is a two-time NFC champion and Super Bowl champion. Wilson joins Peyton Manning and Tom Brady in the list of NFL passer rating leader winners. Odell Beckham Jr. received the “Hands of Gold” award. He interacted with the cheering crowd as he walked to the stage to accept his Kids Choice Sports blimp.

I truly try to make the best me that I can and hopefully I can give one of y’all someone to look up to. The Golden State Warriors were victorious at the 2017 Kids Choice Sports Awards. Stephen Curry was named “Favorite Male Athlete”, and Kevin Durant won the “Sickest Moves” award. Also, Simone Biles and Laurie Hernandez of the Final Five received blimps. Biles was named “Favorite Female Athlete” and Hernandez was named “Favorite Newcomer”. Serena Williams received two awards: “Queen of Swag” and “Best Cannon”.

The 43rd annual People’s Choice Awards took place at Los Angeles’s Microsoft Theater on January 18, 2017. Joel McHale hosted this telecast, which aired on CBS. According to Showbuzz, the televised broadcast was viewed by over 6.5 million people. Here are the highlights:
Ellen DeGeneres made history by winning three awards, including Favorite Daytime TV Host, at the 2017 telecast. She also won a People’s Choice Award for Finding Dory, which was voted as the favorite family movie.
With these awards, DeGeneres became the first person to win a record-breaking total of 20 People’s Choice Awards. Justin Timberlake congratulated Ellen DeGeneres during his introduction speech. Timberlake said that Ellen is the most decorated winner in history and referred to her as “one of the best people on this planet”.
Ellen’s acceptance speech had a friendly sense of humor. She mentioned that winning 20 awards meant a lot because the people voted for her. Ellen also talked about mashed potatoes, traffic, and her love of animals.
“This is amazing,” DeGeneres expressed during her speech. “Seventeen, I get it. Eighteen, sure. Nineteen, I can see that. But 20 is outrageous. This is… This is really something that means, um, more to me… because it comes from the people… I say thank you, people, and the only thing that would make me happier… if it was voted on by animals.”

Timberlake won the People’s Choice award for favorite song with the Trolls soundtrack, “Can’t Stop the Feeling”. He also won the Favorite Male Artist award. “Thank you”, he said. He said the experience was awesome and added that he was under dressed. He expressed his joy of being onstage before mentioning that he was on the 101 freeway eight minutes ago. He thanked Max, Yohan, and the fans. Timberlake then mentioned the two favorite people in his life, his wife and son, before firing the nanny live. Melissa McCarthy received the “Favorite Comedic Movie Actress” People’s Choice Award. She is well known as Sookie St. James on Gilmore Girls and Megan Price in Bridesmaids. This is McCarthy’s fourth People’s Choice Awards win. During McCarthy’s speech, she said that she is a fan of people. McCarthy mentioned that she is grateful to go to work and do what she loves. She then called the other nominees in this category “amazing women”. McCarthy thanked the lovely ladies in this category, as well as the fans that support her. Blake Lively won her first award for “Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress” category. She thanked everyone and mentioned that her win meant a lot to her. “My mom, she always taught me as a kid that you can’t ever let anyone limit you. Don’t ever let anyone tell you there’s something you can’t do,” Lively said. “Thanks, Mom.” Lively called herself an ambitious kid before adding that she set her first goal as a little girl: meet the Spice Girls. Blake Lively expressed her love towards the Spice Girls and their embodiment of girl power.
She continued, “Thank you for sending a message to Hollywood that people want to hear stories about women,” she continued, “and we want to hear your stories. Whether it’s social media, your iPhone — whatever, tell your stories, now more than ever. You need to be heard, you are valuable, and no one can limit you! Thank you, guys, and thank you to my husband.”
Blake Shelton won three People’s Choice Awards this year, including favorite album for If I’m Honest. Victoria Justice presented Shelton’s award for “Favorite album”. He thanked everyone who voted for him, Warner, “hottest date out here tonight, Gwen Stefani”. He won after performing at the People’s Choice Awards. To add, Shelton is well-known for being a coach on “The Voice”. This year, the NBC television series won its 4th consecutive People’s Choice Awards for the favorite competition TV show category. The American Music Awards is globally popular because it honors today’s most famous and influential artists. On November 20, ABC broadcasted the 2016 American Music Awards live. This year’s event took place at the Microsoft Theater. According to ABC projections, 8.8 million people tuned in to watch the American Music Awards this year. Drake, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, and Bruno Mars are among the standouts because they turned heads with their outstanding achievements.
This year’s A-list performers included Maroon 5/ Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Shawn Mendes and Fifth Harmony. Each performance was impressive because of its authenticity and effort. Drake and Bieber won 4 AMAs, Gomez inspired many with her AMAs speech, and Mars moved the crowd with his dance routine. Also, musical icon Sting performed his greatest hits at the AMAs before receiving the Merit Award.
Bruno Mars opened the show with his “24k Magic” performance. It featured synchronized choreography, matching outfits, and strategic lighting. The performance featured blue lighting and special effects that included fireworks. “24k Magic” brought a refreshing 90’s vibe, where flashy bling and partying were the cool new trends. Mars and his squad sported track suits with navy, white, and yellow stripes. Ciara and others were seen singing along. Mars’ hard work paid off, as “24k Magic” remains in the top 10 iTunes charts. “24k Magic” reached #1 in the following iTunes categories: top songs, top albums, and top music videos.
Drake’s Apple Music commercial premiere was another highlight at the AMAs. Drake is seen talking with friends and listening to Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” while lifting a heavy weight. At 22, Bieber is one of the youngest people to make the top 10 AMAs winners list.
