Michael Phelps and his wife, Nicole, are expecting their second child. Here’s the scoop:

International superstar Michael Phelps is a professional Olympian swimmer. Phelps has won 23 Olympics gold medals and 11 American Swimmer of the Year awards. Phelps joins Aaron Rodgers and Stephen Curry in the list of Associated Press Athlete of the Year winnersHe founded the Michael Phelps Foundation, which raises awareness about living a healthy lifestyle while encouraging kids to participate in the sport of swimming. He received the Legend Award at this year’s Kids Choice Sports Awards. In June 2016, Michael and Nicole Phelps became a married couple. On May 5, 2016, they welcomed their first child named Boomer Robert Phelps. Nicole Johnson-Phelps is a model and former Miss California USA winner. Also, she graduated from USC with a Bachelor’s degree in communications with a focus on sports and entertainment.

Access Hollywood reports that Michael Phelps’ mother knew that Nicole Johnson was the one for him. Now, 15-month-old Boomer will have a younger sibling. On Tuesday, the couple announced that they are expecting a second child with this Instagram post:

Michael Phelps receives Legend Award at Kids Choice Sports Awards

Michael Phelps received this year’s Legend Award at the Kids Choice Sports Awards. Here’s the scoop:

As Michael Phelps walked to the stage, he was named the “most decorated Olympian of all time”. With 23 Olympic gold medals and 16 Olympic medals in individual events, Phelps has set new all-time records. Phelps is an 11-time American Swimmer of the Year Award champion and 8-time World Swimmer of the Year Award winner. He joins Aaron Rodgers and Stephen Curry in the list of Associated Press Athlete of the Year winners.

In addition, Michael Phelps is also a philanthropist. He founded the Michael Phelps Foundation, which aims to educate children about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle while expanding opportunities to participate in the sport of swimming. Read more information here. He recently joined the board of Medibio, which focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders.

During Phelps’ speech, he reflected on his journey as an aspiring Olympian swimmer. As a child, Phelps had a fear of the water. He developed a deep passion for swimming and practiced regularly. Onstage, Phelps talked about the key ingredients of success before encouraging everyone to dream big and work towards accomplishing their goals.

“I wanted to do something that nobody else had done before, and thankfully, with a lot of hard work, a lot of dedication, some sacrifice, and a little bit of luck, I was able to do it. To be honest, I still really haven’t been able to fully process everything. […] Personally, I’ve been able to be very fortunate to have such a great support system around me who has helped me grow as an individual,” Phelps said. Click here to watch the full speech.

2017 Kids Choice Sports Awards highlights

The 2017 Kids Choice Sports Awards aired July 16. Here are the main highlights:

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson hosted the 2017 Kids Choice Sports Awards. This event featured tons of green and gold slime as well as a variety of athletic challenges that included pedal pop, relay race, high hoops, and perfect pass.

Russell Wilson is a two-time NFC champion and Super Bowl champion. Wilson joins Peyton Manning and Tom Brady in the list of NFL passer rating leader winners. He was named the “King of Swag” at Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Sports Awards. He also won the “Perfect Pass” challenge, beating Dak Prescott. Click here to watch the full clip on Nick.

Odell Beckham Jr. received the “Hands of Gold” award. He interacted with the cheering crowd as he walked to the stage to accept his Kids Choice Sports blimp.

“It’s truly an honor and a privilege to be up here. I just want to say, to the kids, you guys are truly my inspiration for everything that I do. I truly try to make the best me that I can and hopefully I can give one of y’all someone to look up to. This is a huge accomplishment and I thank you guys for everything you do for me,” he said. The Golden State Warriors were victorious at the 2017 Kids Choice Sports Awards. Stephen Curry was named “Favorite Male Athlete”, and Kevin Durant won the “Sickest Moves” award. Also, Simone Biles and Laurie Hernandez of the Final Five received blimps. Biles was named “Favorite Female Athlete” and Hernandez was named “Favorite Newcomer”. Serena Williams received two awards: “Queen of Swag” and “Best Cannon”.
