Olivia Moultrie says ‘anything is possible’, thanks Nickelodeon at 2019 Kids Choice Sports Awards

Olivia Moultrie appeared on the orange carpet at the 2019 Kids Choice Sports Awards. She thanked Nickelodeon and shared a motivational message. Here is the exclusive interview:

ARTSNLA: “How does it feel to be at the Kids Choice Sports Awards?”

Olivia Moultrie: “I mean, I’m just really grateful for this opportunity to be here and be around all these people. So, I’m just really excited.”

ARTSNLA: “Is this your first time attending?”

Olivia Moultrie: “Yes, it is my first time! So, I mean… Thank you, Nickelodeon. This is really exciting for me.”

ARTSNLA: “Who are you looking forward to seeing today?”

Olivia Moultrie: “Well, I heard Kawhi Leonard is going to be here and he’s my favorite player. So if I could see him, that would be really exciting.”

ARTSNLA: “ What do you want to say to your fans?”

Olivia Moultrie: “ …I would just say, like, anything is possible, man. Like, I’m here! I never thought I would be and, like, I’m just excited. And like, just follow your dreams.”

ARTSNLA: “Who is your biggest inspiration?”

Olivia Moultrie: “…Honestly, it would be the whole women’s national soccer team right now… Just how they fought for equal pay and equal rights for women and then watching them win the world cup was all really exciting.”

The 2019 Kids Choice Sports Awards airs August 10 on Nickelodeon.

Michael Phelps receives Legend Award at Kids Choice Sports Awards

Michael Phelps received this year’s Legend Award at the Kids Choice Sports Awards. Here’s the scoop:

As Michael Phelps walked to the stage, he was named the “most decorated Olympian of all time”. With 23 Olympic gold medals and 16 Olympic medals in individual events, Phelps has set new all-time records. Phelps is an 11-time American Swimmer of the Year Award champion and 8-time World Swimmer of the Year Award winner. He joins Aaron Rodgers and Stephen Curry in the list of Associated Press Athlete of the Year winners.

In addition, Michael Phelps is also a philanthropist. He founded the Michael Phelps Foundation, which aims to educate children about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle while expanding opportunities to participate in the sport of swimming. Read more information here. He recently joined the board of Medibio, which focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders.

During Phelps’ speech, he reflected on his journey as an aspiring Olympian swimmer. As a child, Phelps had a fear of the water. He developed a deep passion for swimming and practiced regularly. Onstage, Phelps talked about the key ingredients of success before encouraging everyone to dream big and work towards accomplishing their goals.

“I wanted to do something that nobody else had done before, and thankfully, with a lot of hard work, a lot of dedication, some sacrifice, and a little bit of luck, I was able to do it. To be honest, I still really haven’t been able to fully process everything. […] Personally, I’ve been able to be very fortunate to have such a great support system around me who has helped me grow as an individual,” Phelps said. Click here to watch the full speech.

Kobe Bryant receives Legend Award at 2016 Kids Choice Sports Awards

Kobe Bryant received the Legend Award at Nickelodeon’s 2016 Kids Choice Sports Awards. Here’s the scoop:

Russell Wilson hosted the 2016 Kids Choice Sports Awards. This show, which aired on Nickelodeon, took place at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion. Kobe Bryant was chosen as the Legend Award recipient. Before the show, Russell Wilson congratulated Kobe Bryant. Wilson also mentioned that Bryant is one of his favorite basketball players. Wilson stated that Bryant, also known as the Black Mamba, influenced people around the world. In April 2016, we wrote a featured piece about Kobe Bryant’s basketball career and legacy. “Honestly bro, you’re a legend… the true legend of the game… I’m happy for you man… you influenced people all over the world… The slime’s going to hit you pretty hard so get ready to go,” Wilson said.

After receiving the Legend Award blimp, Kobe Bryant gave an inspiring speech. Bryant sported black pants and a grey graphic tee with a Bruce Lee image and “fear is for others” quote. Onstage, Bryant said that receiving this award felt amazing. He thanked his fans, wife, and two daughters. Bryant stated that he achieved his goals with hard work and dedication. He stated that “you cannot let others crush your dreams” before challenging the audience to pursue their dreams and goals with determination.
