Lady Gaga, ‘Wicked’, Selena Gomez lead 2025 KCAs nominees

One of Nickelodeon’s most-watched programs, the Kids’ Choice Awards, celebrates the achievements of today’s rising film, television, and music stars. This year’s leading nominees include Wicked, Lady Gaga, and Selena Gomez. Sabrina Carpenter received four Kids’ Choice Awards nods. Here’s the scoop:

With eight Kids’ Choice Awards nominations, Wicked is this year’s leading nominee. Wicked is nominated for Favorite Movie and Favorite Album (Wicked: The Soundtrack). Wicked cast members Jeff Goldblum and Michelle Yeoh are nominated for the Favorite Villain category. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo received Kids’ Choice Awards nods for Favorite Movie Actress. “Defying Gravity” and “Popular” are nominated for this year’s Favorite Song from a Movie category.

Lady Gaga has four Kids’ Choice Awards nominations, including Favorite Female Artist. Mayhem is nominated for Favorite Album, and “Abracadabra” (Mayhem single) is nominated for Favorite Song. “Die with a Smile”, featuring Bruno Mars, is nominated for Favorite Music Collaboration. Bruno Mars is nominated for the Favorite Global Music Star and Favorite Male Artist categories.

Selena Gomez received four Kids’ Choice Awards nods, including Favorite Female Artist. Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, and Lady Gaga also received nominations for the Favorite Female Artist category. I said I love you first is nominated for Favorite Album, and two singles from this album are also nominated. “Call Me When You Break Up” is nominated for Favorite Music Collaboration. “Bluest Flame” is nominated for Favorite Viral Song.

Sabrina Carpenter also received four Kids’ Choice Awards nominations, including Favorite Female Breakout Artist. Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet is nominated for the Favorite Album category. “Please Please Please” (featuring Dolly Parton) is nominated for Favorite Music Collaboration. Emma Myers, Jenna Ortega, Millie Bobby Brown, and Winona Ryder are also 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards nominees.

Tyla, a South African pop singer, is hosting Nickelodeon’s 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards. It will air live from Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar on June 21 at 8 PM ET/PT.

JoJo Siwa and “Stranger Things” cast shine at 2020 Kids’ Choice Awards

The 2020 Kids’ Choice Awards took place on May 2, 2020. Victoria Justice hosted this awards show, which took place virtually. Over 2 million people tuned in to watch this year’s Kids Choice Awards. JoJo Siwa and the “Stranger Things” cast thanked their fans. Here is a quick recap:

JoJo Siwa received the award for Favorite Social Music Star. Siwa celebrated her Kids’ Choice win by getting slimed at home. Also, JoJo Siwa expressed her joy while spreading positivity during her acceptance speech.

JoJo Siwa shared, “Wow, everybody. This is crazy! Oh my gosh, this is my fifth Kids’ Choice Award. Thank you so much for voting for me always, and for supporting me always… Thank you so much, Nickelodeon, for being my family. You know, these past–oh my goodness, these past three-and-a-half years at Nickelodeon have been some of the best times of my life. I have fun every single day getting ready for work for them. And I could just tell you that even though times are hard right now, it’s only going to make life bigger and better… I love you all so much and thank you again. Peace out!” JoJo Siwa shared.

Millie Bobby Brown received the blimp for Favorite Female TV Star. Also, Millie appeared with the cast of “Stranger Things” to accept the Kids’ Choice blimp for Favorite Family TV Show. The “Stranger Things” cast, including Caleb McLaughlin and Sadie Sink, thanked Nickelodeon and their fans.

“Thank you so much to all the kids that voted for our show. “Stranger Things” is a show that’s full of heroes. And right now, it’s so important to think about the heroes in our own lives. So, to all the medical workers and the first responders who are working day and night to help fight this virus, thank you so, so much…”, Sadie Sink responded.

“Thank you for the support throughout the years. We love you for it… I hope everyone is safe and doing well,” Caleb McLaughlin said.

“Thank you to all the fans that voted… To be on the show at this time to bring much needed entertainment and joy is so meaningful to me, and I really don’t take that lightly. I have a deep respect for our healthcare workers at the forefront who are fighting… We love and appreciate you so much”, Millie Bobby Brown voiced.

Nickelodeon donates $1M to No Kid Hungry, The Rock commends Kids Choice Awards

Nickelodeon made a $1M donation to No Kid Hungry. Also, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson commended the Kids’ Choice Awards during his acceptance speech. Here is a quick recap:

Nickelodeon donated $1M to No Kid Hungry to help families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and reduce child hunger. During the 2020 Kids’ Choice Awards, host Victoria Justice announced that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson won the Favorite Movie Actor award. “The Rock” commended the Kids Choice Awards as well as the Nickelodeon network. He shared his positive thoughts:

“Hey kids all around the world, I want to say thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for voting for me. And I also want to thank and commend the Kids’ Choice Awards for using this broadcast to raise really critical awareness for child hunger. So, well done to you guys… I want you to stay positive. I want you to stay happy. I want you to stay healthy. I want you to go to bed feeling great because… you are still bigger than Kevin Hart,” Dwayne “The Rock” responded.

Dwyane Wade, a former guard with the Miami Heat, received honorary recognition for his athleticism and philanthropy work. Wade is a 3× NBA champion, 13× NBA All-Star (2005-2016, 2019) and an NBA All-Star Game MVP. Additionally, Wade won the 2012-13 NBA Community Assist Award during the 2012-2013 season. Wade also received honorary recognition for being the Miami Heat’s all-time assists leader and leading scorer. He received two ESPY awards: Best NBA player and Best Breakthrough Athlete. An avid philanthropist, Wade supported the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as an ambassador for their Hoops for St. Jude basketball initiative.

“I feel complete. That’s why I was able to walk away from the game like I did, because I felt complete,” Dwyane Wade responded. “My career, it surpassed everything that I ever dreamed of. I think that’s the thing, some guys don’t accomplish some of the things that they want to, and they feel like they still have something in them from that standpoint. For me, I’m complete, man. I’ve done everything I wanted to do and more.”

Gymnast Laurie Hernandez shared an inspiring message on the orange carpet at the 2019 Kids Choice Sports Awards. She wore a striped blue pantsuit, pumps, hoop earrings, and a bright smile. Here is the exclusive interview:

ARTSNLA: “How does it feel to be at the Kids Choice Sports Awards?”

Laurie Hernandez: “It’s wonderful to be here at the Kids Choice Sports Awards. I mean, being able to spread that message that kids should be happier and they should all get together as a team… I think that’s wonderful.”

ARTSNLA: “Awesome! What do you look forward to today?”

Laurie Hernandez: “Today… There’s a lot of games that are going to be played that you might catch me in… So definitely tune in!”

ARTSNLA: “Is there any message you want to send to your fans today?”

Laurie Hernandez: “Keep on moving, go ahead and try something new. And stay active, that’s the biggest thing. Stay active, find that freedom in movement, and find what you love!”
