After empowering millions of viewers as Lorelai Gilmore in ‘Gilmore Girls’, Lauren Graham is receiving a Walk of Fame star. Here’s the scoop:
After landing an acting role in the ‘Parenthood’ show, Lauren Graham rose to fame as Lorelai Gilmore. ‘Gilmore Girls’, which premiered in 2000, has become a timeless staple and television classic. Lauren Graham has received two Screen Actors Guild nominations, one People’s Choice Award nomination, and one Golden Globe nomination. A ‘Gilmore Girls’ star and producer, Graham inspires an intergenerational base of fans through the relatable persona of Lorelai Gilmore.
The ‘Gilmore Girls’ executive director, Amy Sherman-Palladino, spoke highly of Graham. During her speech, Sherman-Palladino expressed that she enjoyed working with the ‘Gilmore Girls’ star. Former ‘Gilmore Girls’ co-stars, including Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore) and Scott Patterson (Luke Danes), were also in attendance.
“Lauren Graham changed my entire life. Um, I have a hat room in New York City. I live in New York City and I have a room that’s just for hats. And that’s because of Lauren Graham. And all I can say is I love you. I forgive the fact that you decided to become a writer. Thanks for staying in your lane… But more than that, you are everything just to me,” Sherman-Palladino spoke.
Shortly before her star was revealed, Graham expressed her joy and gratitude in a speech while also thanking all of her fans:
“The part that has really stuck with people is Lorelai… I just want to say a special thank you to the fans of the show who have been so dedicated and so loving and so enthusiastic and so kind. I’m so moved when you come up to me in usually at the airport bathroom and um and tell me how much the show has meant to you and that you’ve shared it with a family member and maybe passed it on to another generation… I could never have predicted but to have been a part of something so special,” Graham responded.
Lauren Graham’s Walk of Fame star is located on 6284 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the W Hollywood Hotel. Her star is near the Walk of Fame stars for Marc Anthony, Courteney Cox, and Katharine Hepburn.
