“La La Land”, “Moonlight”, Viola Davis, and Tracee Ross shine at 2017 Golden Globes

The 2017 Golden Globes telecast aired on January 8. Twenty million people tuned in to watch the Golden Globes, which aired on NBC. Here are the main highlights of this star-studded ceremony:

La La Land was the biggest winner of the evening. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling star as the main characters of the film. La La Land, which is about pursuing dreams in Tinseltown, achieved a remarkable feat. This classic modern film made history by winning 7 Globes awards.

Moonlight was another big winner at this year’s Golden Globes telecast. Moonlight won the Globes award for being the best drama motion picture. Producer Adele Romanski and director Barry Jenkins accepted this award. Janelle Monáe appeared onstage with the Moonlight cast. Romanski thanked the Hollywood Foreign Press, the Moonlight crew, and Barry Jenkins. Jenkins also thanked the Hollywood Foreign Press as well as his crew and family. Then, Jenkins urged everyone to tell a friend about the movie.

Viola Davis earned the best supporting actress Globes award for her work in Fences. Fences is a cinematic illustration of the in-depth play written by August Wilson. Davis thanked the Hollywood Foreign Press, Paramount, and everyone who believed in Fences during her acceptance speech. Davis thanked Denzel Washington and her family before honoring her late father, Dan Davis. Viola Davis’s powerful speech received heartfelt applause.

Tracee Ellis Ross’s work in Black-ish received her first Globes nomination and award for the best actress in a comedy TV series category. Ross delivered an empowering speech that united the audience. She thanked ABC, the Hollywood Foreign Press, and her family. Ross acknowledged the “beauty and sameness of stories that are outside of where the industry usually looks”. Ross then received applause from the crowd.
