On July 30, 2021, Silk Sonic’s “Skate” (single) was released and the official video premiered on YouTube. Mars said that “Skate” was written in the studio as he and his team imagined performing a song in a roller rink. During an Apple Music interview, Mars shared that this single “came about as part of thought exercise in the studio”. Now, Silk Sonic’s “Skate” video has received 15.7M+ YouTube views and 770K likes. The “Skate” video was directed by Bruno Mars, Florent Déchard, and Philippe Tayag. This video features a crew of skating dancers, live instruments, and choreography. “Skate” is the second single of Silk Sonic’s debut album, An Evening with Silk Sonic.
