This Women’s History Month, the ARTSNLA team is honoring Pat Prescott. An award-winning veteran radio personality, Prescott also hosts a morning radio show on 94.7 The Wave. Prescott has been mentored by Vy Higgensen, one of her “biggest radio heroes”. A Northwestern University graduate, Prescott has received many honors including the prestigious Genii award from the Alliance of Women in Media. Now, Pat Prescott is expanding her horizons by hosting her very own WBGO segment. Here’s the scoop:
On February 28, the first episode of Pat Prescott’s new “Favorite Things” radio segment aired on 88.3 FM WBGO. Prescott also paid tribute to her father, Herman, during the first two days of the “Favorite Things” radio show while crediting him as the reason why she fell in love with jazz music. The first song featured on Prescott’s new show was Horace Silver’s “Song For My Father”. Prescott’s “Favorite Things” is an outstanding radio show, and Prescott’s effortless storytelling and enthusiasm consistently creates an intriguing radio presence that invites listeners to learn more… Prescott is truly keeping the rich culture and history of jazz alive.
Pat Prescott‘s “Favorite Things” segment airs on WBGO Mondays – Fridays from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM EST. Also, Prescott will be interviewing musicians and celebrities during this two-hour program. Click here to read more info.
