At the 2022 TONY Awards, A Strange Loop was named the Best Musical. Jennifer Hudson was a producer in this movie. A Chicago native, J. Hud became an EGOT winner because she received Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards. First, Hudson was named as an Oscar winner for Best Supportive Actress in Dreamgirls. She also received 2 GRAMMYs: 1 for Best R&B album, and 1 for Best Musical Theater album (The Color Purple). In 2021, Baba Yaga received an EMMY for Outstanding Interactive Media for a Daytime Program. And this week, Hudson received the Best Musical award at the Tonys for A Strange Loop.

Jennifer Hudson is the seventeenth person to become an EGOT winner. She joins the list of EGOTs including Helen Hayes, Mel Brooks, Audrey Hepburn, Robert Lopez, and John Legend.
