Mariah Carey is making history with “All I Want for Christmas is You”. This single has achieved historic feats after climbing to No. 1 on Billboard‘s charts. This single has charted at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 for 91 weeks. It is also the first song to lead Billboard‘s Hot 100 charts for five distinct years. Now, Mariah Carey’s record of No. 1’s on the Billboard Hot 100 charts is 32 years and five months. During her acceptance speech, Carey shared a joke about not acknowledging time and thanked all of her fans.
Mariah Carey shared, “When I first sat down to write “All I Want for Christmas is You”, I never could have imagined that I would be standing here three months later accepting this special award. I’m so honored to be receiving this award… but the greatest achievement for me is being here with all of you and feeling the love that only music can generate. Thank you so much!”
