    The 74TH Emmy Awards took place on September 12, 2022 at the Microsoft Theater. Kenan Thompson hosted this year’s Emmys, and Succession was the leading nominee (12 nominations). Several actors, writers, and producers made history by establishing new records at the 74TH Emmy Awards. Zendaya and Lee Jung-Jae also emerged as distinctive, very talented actors. And five television shows were celebrated in a major way. ARTSNLA has the exclusive recap about this year’s Emmy Awards. Here’s the scoop:

    A class act, Zendaya became the youngest person to win two Emmy awards as a lead actor. During this year’s Emmy Awards show, Kelly Clarkson announced that Zendaya won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. After Clarkson presented this award, Zendaya shared a gracious speech with a theme of empowerment that uplifted the list of fellow nominees in this category as well as fans around the world. Today, this historic moment has soared to #8 on YouTube Trending.

    “Thank you for believing in me, and even in moments where I didn’t believe in myself… My greatest wish for Euphoria is that it could help heal people. I just want to say thank you to everyone who has shared their story with me… I’m so grateful for your stories and I carry them with me and I carry them with her (Rue). So, thank you so much,” Zendaya shared.

    Lee Jung-jae received the Emmy award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama. Jung-Jae plays the role of Seong Gi-hun in “Squid Games”, which airs on Netflix. Lee Jung-jae made history as the first non-English (Korean) performance to win this Emmy Award. Also, Jung-jae thanked God during his speech as well as his family and supporters during his uplifting speech.

    “To everyone watching from Korea, my dearest fans, friends and family who have always supported me, I want to share this joy with you. Thank you,” Lee Jung-jae voiced.

    As a key highlight, five television shows achieved major recognition at the 74TH Emmy Awards. They were celebrated in a major way:

    The White Lotus (HBO/HBO Max) received five Emmys: Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie (Murray Bartlett as Armond), Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie (Jennifer Coolidge as Tanya McQuoid), Outstanding Directing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie (Mike White), and Outstanding Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie (Mike White).

    Ted Lasso (Apple TV+) received four Emmys: Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso), Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent), and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series (MJ Delaney).

    Succession (HBO/ HBO Max) received three Emmys: Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in Drama Series (Matthew Macfadyen as Tom Wambsgans in Succession), and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series (Jesse Armstrong).

    Squid Game (Netflix) received two Emmys: Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Lee Jung-jae as Seong Gi-hun) and Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series (Hwang Dong-hyuk).

    Abbott Elementary (ABC) received two Emmys: Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (Sheryl Lee Ralph as Barbara Howard), and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series (Quinta Brunson).

    Sheryl Lee Ralph’s powerful Emmys acceptance speech landed at #6 on YouTube Trending. Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers presented this award to Sheryl Lee Ralph. After accepting this Emmy award, Ralph sang “Endangered Species” by Dianne Reeves triumphantly before voicing a memorable speech filled with uplifting words about hope and empowerment.     The Super Bowl LVI halftime show aired live on NBC from the SoFi Stadium. Here’s the scoop:

    With a score of 13-10, the Los Angeles Rams scored a slight lead over the Cincinnati Bengals. After the second quarter ended, the highly anticipated Super Bowl LVI halftime show launched live on NBC. This memorable performance featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar. The creative setup told a genuine story, and it looked like it could also be a new collaborative music video.

    During the halftime show, a few unexpected surprises were revealed on live television. 50 Cent performed “In Da Club”, and Anderson .Paak proudly played the drums during Eminem’s performance. Also, Eminem knelt on one knee after performing “Lose Yourself”, and he held his lowered head with his right hand. Next to Eminem, Dr. Dre started playing “I Ain’t Mad At Cha” on the piano as a tribute to Tupac Shakur.

    This week, the Apple Event and iPhone 13 Pro were featured in the top 5 on YouTube Trending. Here is a quick recap:

    The 2021 Apple Event video soared to #1 on YouTube Trending, while the iPhone 13 Pro video landed at #4 on YouTube Trending. Also, two award-winning producers made a special appearance in the new Apple Event video: Kathryn Bigelow and Greig Fraser. This video demonstrates the iPhone 13 Pro’s new camera upgrades, including ProRes and cinematic mode. They discussed how the iPhone 13 Pro is impacting the world of cinematography because it will directly affect the language of cinema and directing movies.

    This week, Apple announced the launch of its new iPhone 13 models as well as two new iPad tablets and the Apple Watch Series 7 (which are more durable). Apple’s new iPhone 13 models start with 128 GB of storage (instead of 64 GB). Also, Apple announced two new iPad tablets: the new iPad mini and the next-gen $329 iPad – which comes in four colors. The iPad mini 6’s button has a Touch ID sensor, USB-C connector, 4k video recording, and more. The next-gen iPad has True Tone display, support for Apple Pencil, and dual microphones. The iPhone 13 models and iPad mini are built with the lightning-fast A15 Bionic chip and 5G compatibility. The iPhone 13 models are scheduled to launch on September 24, 2021.     Selena Gomez’s “De Una Vez” is her first Spanish-language single. Today, “De Una Vez” landed at #1 on the YouTube Trending list. It is also #1 in the Top Latin songs chart on iTunes. In 21 hours, Gomez’s “De Una Vez” video received 1.1M likes and 8.8M+ YouTube views. Also, the “De Una Vez” video showcases nature as a powerful healing element. Gomez wore a pink Rodarte dress with silk flowers in her hair. She sings about healing from heartbreak and finding her strength.

    “I hope the message of hope comes across after acknowledging the pain and hurt,” Selena Gomez voiced.

    A list of YouTube influencers and celebrities congratulated the class of 2020 graduates during this year’s virtual commencement event. Alicia Keys, Dude Perfect, Michael Strahan, Camila Mendes, Demi Lovato shared words of encouragement while uplifting the graduates. Here is a quick recap:

    Alicia Keys sang “Underdog” and dedicated this performance to the class of 2020 graduates. Keys sang with emotional depth and radiated positivity as she played her pink grand piano. Alicia Keys also talked about the importance of empathizing with others. Keys discussed the importance of expressing your voice to create more positive changes in the world.     “Keep flying, keep rising. Keep your frequency high. Keep smiling. Keep working hard. Keep standing up. Keep showing out. Keep being brilliant. Don’t hold back,” Keys voiced. “Your sister Alicia Keys is right here with you. Congratulations. You did it!”

    Dude Perfect delivered a motivational speech about perseverance—mainly for the athletes. As a group, they spoke encouraging words and made a few jokes. Dude Perfect also made shots on the basketball court.

    “In reality, you cannot expect to make every shot you take. That’s where perseverance comes in… Just like you’re going to have misses, you’re also going to have hot days. And today is apparently a hot day for us… And just like this year has been unexpected, we believe in the class of 2020 to rise above this and make it through to the other side… Best of luck,” Dude Perfect responded.

    Dude Perfect included a list of friends in their speech, who also congratulated the class of 2020 graduates. Tom Brady urged everyone to practice good habits and always show gratitude. Michael Strahan spoke about encouragement while discussing the power of persistence:

    “Keep trying to be the best. Encourage each other… And most of all, encourage yourself. Don’t doubt yourself. Tell yourself you can do anything, and I guarantee you can. When you get an opportunity, take your shot… and if you miss it, continue to take shots,” Strahan spoke.

    Camila Mendes delivered an empowering speech about emotional health and stability while congratulating the class of 2020 graduates. Then, Mendes shared that she moved around a lot as a kid. She discussed the importance of cultivating stability towards making progress and maintaining wellness:

    “I moved around a lot as a kid so I know firsthand that stability can be found not just in a physical place. It could be figuring out habits that work for you… The point is, you can’t take your next step until you have a solid foundation and I really hope you guys find that for yourselves. I’m wishing you all the best,” Camila voiced.

    Demi Lovato’s speech focused on preparing for the next chapter and staying strong together to overcome all obstacles. Demi uplifted the class of 2020 graduates while sharing empowering words about self-confidence. She also spoke about the power of perseverance while supporting the graduates.

    “I kept circling back to one word: perseverance… And don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it, but also help others. Remind yourself of our common humanity, practice kindness for yourself, and turn that into compassion for others. Create the new normal together… I challenge all of you to be confident and to persevere. I have no doubt in mind that you will. So to the class of 2020, I’m rooting for you. I’m celebrating you. Congratulations,” Demi voiced.

    The official video for Harry Styles’ “Adore You” received 601k+ likes in less than 24 hours. This video also received 4M+ views. This powerful, cinematic video illustrates a story about ‘The Boy’, played by Harry Styles. Rosalía is the narrator, Dave Meyers is the director, and Nathan Scherrer is the producer. Also, Kid Harpoon composed the score for this video.

    The boy is the hero in the “Adore You” video. At first, the boy is isolated in the Isle of Eroda because of his bright smile. Then, the boy finds a fish in the sea who shared the feeling of isolation. This video illustrates a powerful story of friendship between the boy and the fish. In the end, a group of people helps the boy safely move the fish to the coast. Afterwards, the boy pushes the fish into the sea. The boy restored peace in Eroda and brought joy to the town.
