Deborah Silver’s voice has the natural ability to connect with international audiences. The Gold Standards has captivated diverse groups of listeners. The Wall Street Journal critic Will Friedwald praised Silver’s album with these sincere words: “If you’ve heard Ms. Silver before, you know how much fun it is to spend time with her – musically, I mean. If she’s new to you, then let me introduce you to your new best friend.”

The Gold Standards is crafted with meticulous care and attention to detail. Silver collaborated with producers Steve Tyrell and Jon Allen in the studio. She also partnered with Alan Broadbent to help refine this project. Deborah Silver sent this tweet to announce the album’s pre-sale with a picture of her working with Steve and Alan:

In The Gold Standards, Silver reinterprets select popular standards as contemporary renditions that reflect on her life experiences. “Ain’t Misbehavin” is track 6 of The Gold Standards. In 2001, this standard was selected by the RIAA as one of the 365 songs of the century. Silver’s take on “Ain’t Misbehavin” features soulful vocals and brass instruments that capture the cinematic feel of a lively love story. Ella Fitzgerald also recorded a rendition of this song. Both renditions captivate large audiences with their signature styles and stellar vocal techniques.

“I Can’t Give You Anything but Love” is track 9 of The Gold Standards. showcases Silver’s ability to spread warmth with her soulful vocals. Silver’s modern, subtle version has the atmosphere of a live jazz nightclub. This arranged tune has a heartwarming feeling of nostalgia. Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett also recorded a contemporary version of this popular tune. Both renditions are refreshing because international listeners are attracted to the heartwarming atmosphere that emanates from the music.

Overall, “The Gold Standards” is a refreshing jazz album that re-invents the classics. Deborah Silver’s vocal artistry and authenticity are displayed with sheer finesse. Silver worked very hard on this album, making each song on this jazz masterpiece an enjoyable listen. Proceeds from this album will be donated to research in hopes to find a cure of ALS. Silver’s sister is battling this disease, which affects the function of nerves and muscles.

Silver plans to collaborate with Harry Connick, Jr. soon. Stay tuned.
