Grammy-winning producer and singer Steve Tyrell will perform at Catalina Bar and Grill in October 2018. Here’s the scoop:
In the five-minute video (see above), Tyrell mentions that Burt Bacharach is one of his biggest influences. For Tyrell, “Back to Bacharach” is a special project. He also said “A House Is Not a Home” is a very personal song for him because he lost his wife to colon cancer. Tyrell chose to give back by donating all the proceeds of “What the World Needs Now” to the National Colorectal Cancer Alliance to help prevent colon cancer. Dionne Warwick, James Taylor, Martina McBride, Rod Stewart, and Burt Bacharach sing vocals on this song.
Steve Tyrell has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry. At 19, he produced with Burt Bacharach and Hal David. He helped Dionne Warwick launch “The Look of Love” and “Alfie”. Steve Tyrell’s Back to Bacharach features artists like Burt Bacharach, Herb Alpert, Martina McBride, and James Taylor.
Tyrell produced Deborah Silver’s The Gold Standards, which debuted at No. 1 on multiple Billboard charts. In addition, he co-produced Rod Stewart’s Grammy-winning album, Stardust: The Great American Songbook, Volume III. In 2005, it received a Grammy for Traditional Pop Vocal Album.
