Mariah Carey achieves historic feat at 2023 Billboard Music Awards

Mariah Carey is making history with “All I Want for Christmas is You”. This single has achieved historic feats after climbing to No. 1 on Billboard‘s charts. At the 2023 BBMAs, she received Billboard‘s Chart Achievement Award. She also performed “All I Want for Christmas is You” live. Here is a quick recap:

Mariah Carey is currently the only female artist to top Billboard‘s Hot 100 charts for more than 12 weeks. This year, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” has set new Billboard records. This single has charted at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 for 91 weeks. It is also the first song to lead Billboard‘s Hot 100 charts for five distinct years. Now, Mariah Carey’s record of No. 1’s on the Billboard Hot 100 charts is 32 years and five months. During her acceptance speech, Carey shared a joke about not acknowledging time and thanked all of her fans.

Mariah Carey shared, “When I first sat down to write “All I Want for Christmas is You”, I never could have imagined that I would be standing here three months later accepting this special award. I’m so honored to be receiving this award… but the greatest achievement for me is being here with all of you and feeling the love that only music can generate. Thank you so much!”

Kelly Clarkson receives Hollywood Walk of Fame star

The Hollywood Walk of Fame has over 2,000 stars celebrating famous entertainers, actors, and singers. It features a diverse list of people including Michael Jackson, Idina Menzel, Ann Blyth, Herb Alpert, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Audrey Hepburn, and Lucille Ball (2 stars). Now, Kelly Clarkson has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. A Grammy-winning artist, Clarkson also hosts her own Emmy-winning talk show. ARTSNLA has the exclusive recap:

Lupita Sanchez-Cornejo, chairman of the board at Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, delivered the initial welcoming speech while including all fans watching the online live stream of this historic event. Then, she introduced Kelly Clarkson to the cheering audience. Kelly Clarkson’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star, unveiled yesterday, is the 2733rd star to ever be made.

“I changed my flight just so I could be here! I wouldn’t miss it for the world. Your talent, your tenacity, your grace, your dignity made season 1 (of American Idol) all worth it. […] I love you. Thank you for changing the trajectory of my life and making me believe… that young, talented can make it and they can make it big time,” Paula Abdul shared.

Jason Halbert, Simon Cowell, and Paula Abdul attended this historic event to honor Kelly Clarkson. Randy Jackson also appeared to support Clarkson. They both gave speeches and shared their experiences of working with the star. Kelly Clarkson talked about the importance of being surrounded by caring people that tell you the truth and thanked all her fans and supporters. L.A. City Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell also shared his positive thoughts on the iconic pop singer and talk show host. Kelly Clarkson took photos with daughter River Rose and son Remington after her Walk of Fame star was revealed.

Kelly Clarkson’s star is located on 6801 Hollywood Boulevard. Her star is displayed on the same street as other famous A-list celebrities like Simon Cowell, Sandra Bullock, Jackie Chan, and Celine Dion.

“It’s a really cool thing to be surrounded by people that aren’t ‘yes people’; they tell you the truth. They tell you, um, honestly, their opinion and I love that from the beginning with Idol… I think that’s important to have people that give their honest advice and I’ve always welcomed that. And I think that is why I’m here today… not just because of myself but because of just having constantly teams of people that love you and support you and really want to make your dreams come true while making their dreams come true,” Kelly Clarkson voiced.

‘An Evening with Silk Sonic’ to launch November 12

Multi-Grammy winning artist Bruno Mars announced that he will donate 24,000 meals in Hawaii for Thanksgiving. This number is inspired by Mars’ 24k Magic World Tour. Here’s the scoop:

Bruno Mars is giving back to his hometown by donating 24,000 to Hawaiian residents. This number is inspired by the 24k Magic World Tour. Also, 24k Magic won Record of the Year and Album of the Year at the 60th GRAMMYs. This year, Mars sent a donation to The Salvation Army’s Thanksgiving Dinner Program in the Hawaiian and Pacific Islands Division. Thanks to Mars’ golden donation, many families will receive free meals.

Recently, Bruno Mars earned $320M by performing at 175 concerts during the 24k Magic Tour. Mars sold out three shows at the Hawaii’s Aloha Stadium, breaking the two-day record set by U2 and Michael Jackson. After Bruno Mars wrapped up this tour in Hawaii, he sent this tweet:
