2025 Live-Action “Lilo & Stitch” Film Comes to Disney+ on September 3

The 2025 Lilo & Stitch movie, a cultural touchstone and global box-office sensation, is coming to Disney+ on September 3. Long-time fans recognize Chris Sanders as the voice of Stitch in the original 2002 movie. Sanders is voicing Stitch again in the 2025 live-action film. After crash-landing on Kauaʻi in a police cruiser, Stitch is adopted by Lilo. Here’s the scoop:

Lilo & Stitch (2025) is directed by Dean Fleischer Camp. This film stars Maia Kealoha as Lilo and Sydney Elizebeth Agudong as Nani. Kealoha and Agudong are both strong actors, creating believable chemistry on screen. Camp instantly knew Kealoha was the perfect actress for Lilo’s character. Kealoha’s good energy can light up any room, and she delivered a solid performance.

“Maia Kealoha was such an amazing find for our film. Maia embodies Lilo in a bunch of different ways… Like, she really was honestly one of the better actors I’ve ever worked with,” Dean Camp shared.

Disney’s Lilo & Stitch (2025) is a great film that preserves some aspects of the original film. Maia Kealoha as Lilo and Sydney Elizebeth Agudong as Nani anchor this film with their solid acting and effortless connections to both characters’ personas. The dynamic between Lilo & Stitch is believable in this 2025 live-action film. Long-time fans recognize Chris Sanders as the only actor who should be the voice of Stitch. (Sanders also wrote and directed the original 2002 movie.)

The Lilo & Stitch (2025) soundtrack album also captures the heart of the movie. The “Burning Love” cover, recorded by Nyjah Music & Zyah Rhythm, is a standout soundtrack. This refreshing version has a catchy hook and pitch-perfect harmonies, with high-energy notes that make a radio-friendly hit. Bruno Mars plays the guitar on this track. Mars is the uncle of Nyjah Music & Zyah Rhythm. Like Mars, Music & Rhythm can also sing and dance. The original Lilo & Stitch movie also featured a “Burning Love” cover, sung by Wynonna Judd. A classic tune, “Burning Love” helps capture this movie’s nostalgia and ‘ohana.

A breakout film, Lilo & Stitch (2025) is the first film to earn $1B in 2025. Twenty-three years later, Lilo & Stitch (2025) unites long-time fans and people of different generations who can relate to the story of this classic movie.
